Please call 251-479-5700 for more information about any of these opportunities.
PARENT AIDES: Parent aides are matched with one family who they see once a week in the family’s home. They serve as parent mentors and provide mothers with emotional support and good parenting advice. Training and ongoing staff support is provided throughout the year. Parent aides should be 25 years or older, have reliable transportation and insurance, and undergo background checks.
FUNDRAISING: The Luck of the Irish is the biggest fundraiser of the year and requires volunteers of all kinds. You can help with the 5K Run if you’re an early bird, or work the concession stands throughout Bienville Park if you like to handle food and tickets. The Children’s Glen can always use more hands as well as the entry gates. If you like to organize and sell, you can serve on the committee that puts the “LOI” all together.
We also host an annual golf tournament and auction where volunteers can help. If you would like to host a fundraiser for our benefit we will be more than happy to work with you.
MAINTENANCE: Our playrooms for families require regular upkeep and cleaning. If you are good with elbow grease, this is the job for you.
CLIENT FOLLOW UP: Involves calling participants after they finish programs to inquire how they are doing and keeping records of phone calls.
GRANT WRITERS: If you are an experienced grant writer with the desire to search for new avenues of funding for the Family Center there is certainly a need for your talents.
CLERICAL / DATA ENTRY: Involves data entry using Excel format, retrieval of data from client files, file maintenance, copying, and answering phones.
INTERNS: Interns are welcome from any discipline related to social/human services, marketing, public relations, or health education and nursing. See Intern section.
